Territory: the district is located at the centre of the two regional capitals, Perugia and Terni, cut in two by the River Tiber. The Martani Mountains are the backdrop to the entire area and are one of its major attractions. They are easy to reach and offer interesting, healthful excursions in the extensive, unspoiled woods of evergreen ilex.
Worthy of note: Todi, an extremely historic town in a dominant position over the Tiber valley, is certainly the area's most important tourist attraction. The other towns in the district - Collazzone, Fratta Todina, Marsciano, Massa Martana and Monte Castello di Vibio - are significant for the quantity of monuments and the unspoiled environment. There are Etruscan and Roman remains, medieval and renaissance buildings, churches, and also, landscapes of rare beauty.
