Territory.
Perugia dominates, not only from a political standpoint, but from an economic and a social one as well. This entire area is scattered with towns, some of which are tiny, but always fortified; lookout towers; and rural settlements formed by groups of houses simply bundled together. Throughout the countryside there are churches, chapels, and shrines, testifying that no landscape exists without some human trace.

Worthy of note:
Perugia, with its Etruscan, Roman and Medieval traces; with its museums (Umbria's Galleria Nazionale is here) and works by Perugino. And again - Palazzo dei Priori and Fontana Maggiore, decorated by Nicola and Giovanni Pisano. Another important town is Deruta, known all over the world for its ceramics craft industry, dating way back into the Middle Ages. Also of interest is Torgiano, famous for its excellent production of wines and its Wine and Oil museum.
